Bruyères-le-Chatel, Bassin de retenue,
30 ha with a good stock of carp to 15 kg+. Quite severe problems with thefts from parked cars. Nightfishing authorized. From Paris, follow the N20, turn off towards Arpajon, and continue to Dourdan.

Caneaux de Courcouronnes, Courcouronnes
These canals following the N446 at Courcouronnes holds many decent carp in the 12 kg bracket. Nightfishing authorized.

Foille Montalbot, Vigneux,
Water of 23 ha. with a good stocking of big carp. Nightfishing authorized.

Laveyssière, Ballastière de, Draveil,
This old gravelpit of 28 ha.is connected to the Seine, and carp over 25 kg has been caught here quite frequently. Nightfishing is permitted. Prom Paris, take the N6 to Vigneux-Draveil; by N448 to Boulevard Henri-Barbusse, and turn left to Port aux Cerises.

Maisse, Étangs fèdèreaux de,
2 small, shallow lakes with lots of small carp. Just besides the river Essonne the town Maisse. Nightfishing allowed.

Seine, Corbeil-Essone, Montereau.
Incredibly many very big carp to 30-31 kg has over the years been caught from both the Seine, the Yonne and the Essonne on the stretch from the confluence of the two first named rivers and down stream. Koi to 12 kg has been caught in the lower Essonne too.
Many zebra mussels, as well as sunken cars, trees and other gross debris under water often result in cut-offs, so kevlar leaders are recommended. Dont expect the fishing to be easy! Blanks are the order of the day, and meticulous baiting in advance is often the key to succes.
4 rods are allowed. You can buy réciprocité of the"UPIF" (Union des Pecheur d'Île de France), though, for an extra 25 € stamp to your "Carte de Pêche". This is valid for the departements 91, 92, 93, 95, 78 and 75. With a mobile approach to the river, this just might be a very good idea ...
Several stretches with nightfishing allowed, at Damnarie-les-Lys, Île aux Paveurs, Evry, Corbeil-Essonne, „La berge Sauvage", Pont du Ris-Orangis, Pont de Juvisy at Draveil a bit further towards Paris.
A 26,5 kg carp has been landed from the river at Melun. A map showing all nightfishing stretches should be obtainable from Service Navigation Seine, subdivision Melun, 26 bis, Quai Hippolyte-Rossignol - 77000 Melun.

Draveil.
In the outskirts of Paris, the few stretches of the river with small bits of nature is obviously very popular with the carp anglers, as it's the case at Draveil, south-east of the Orly-airport. Unfortunately attempts to "clean up" has spoiled many of those nice spots, og which „La fosse aux carpes" was one of the more popular, that now is gone to make room for mooring of boats. The carp are still there, though, where they are often found ind the shadows of the boats.

Nightfishing is allowed
- on both banks from pont de Ris Orangis to barrage d'Evry.
- Corbeil on the right bank from the RN104 to the end of lot 3 - signed.
- Evry on both banks 2 rives from the end of lot 3 to barrage d'Evry- but not from the habour areas.
- from port Longuet to pont de Juvisy from the Massey Fergusson factory to gare d'Athis Mons
- the right bank from pont de Ris Orangis to pont de Juvisy

Vert-le-Petit, Étangs de, Essonne
These small waters hold carp to 20 kg+ - and naturally great pressure are put on the carp here, making fishing a bit hard at times. Permits can be purchased at „Toutes pour la Pêche, 8, place de la Mairie in Vert-le-Petit. There is a camping site by the „Étang Communal".
