La Piscine, Canal Rhône au Rhin, Taveax.
„La Piscine" is the nickname for this big turning bassin on the canal at the "zone industrielle" at Taveaux, southwest of Dole. There is outlet of warm cooling water from the industries, and thus foods are abundant - and so are carp to 20 kg+! Surroundings are not particular beautifull - but the big carp are here.  A 21 kg common is reported from this area.

Many big carp to 17-18 kg has been landed from this 1600 ha. big and quite cold lake. Often, fishing takes place in 8-10 meters of depth, where the water in summer never exceeds 13 degrees celsius. A boat is almost indispensable here, as many areas are not accessible in any other way. Beware of bad weather! Boats can be put in the water at Pont de la Pyle. In places, many treestumps on the bottom creates real "mine-fields" for the carp anglers.
Nightfishing is not allowed. Permits can be obtained at Jardiland, ZI Nord, Oyonax and Maison dela Presse, Orgelet, and from the bar opposite the postoffice on the mainstreet in Pont-de-Poitte.
