Canal de la Marne à la Saône,
This canal from St. Dizier to Chaumont offers several nightfishing zones for carp in weekends 2004 and up to holidays
- at Joinville - from the very beautifull "Pont de 100m" at the junction with the Marne. Common carp of 20 kg+ has been caught here quite frequently. Annual stockings are undertaken here. The fishing is not too easy here. For the time being acces by car to this sector is not allowed - but the local club is working on it ....
- at Froncles - on 300 m from 'Écluse no. 36 de Bussieeres-les-Froncles to l'écluse no. 35 de Froncles.
- at Curel - on 300 m upstream l'écluse de Curel.


Charmes, Le Reservoir de, Langres,  
Carp of 31,5 kg is said to have been landed in '91. The official lake record 2002 is 24 kg. The lake is the main water-supply for Canal de la Marne au Rhin. Last vidange in 2002.

Nightfishing 2004 allowed on 4 zones: 
- Z1 : 450 m from 20 m downstream the CD 74 digue.
- Z2 : 300 m from 550 m downstream the CD 4 digue on the left bank to  80 m upstream pont de Tôle.
- Z3 : 100 m at the baie de Varbeton.
- Z4 : 150 m from 350 m upstream the digue du réservoir and on 200 m downstream. 

Der-Chantecoq, Lac du, Marne/Haute Marne.  
With its 4.800 ha. the biggest reservoir in France, and home of hundreds of magnificent carp - commons to 20 kg+ and mirrors close to 30 kg. 30 swims for nightfishing is available from 30/3 to 28/9, of which 21 can be reached by car - the rest only by boat. The 4 swims in Bassin Süd can be nightfished untill 30/11. No installation allowed on the nightfishing swims without prior booking at La Maison de Pêcheurs, where permits are accuirred. The nightfishing swims cannot be fished by daytime only anglers.

 

It's no longer permitted to fish beyond 100 meters - so the once so famous long range fishing at 2-300 meters distance no longer can be practiced. Lines are to be placed perpendicular to the bank - and with no more than 5 meters spacing.
Boats are not allowed at night. As of the 2003 season, echosounders & fishfinders are now allowed.
Click the thumbnail to view a larger map.Water levels vary with seasons, lowest levels reached in late autum; highest in the spring. The partly muddy, partly gravelly bottom is in places littered with big old tree-stumps, making it nescessary to embarque to fight fish, as they can hardly avoid getting snagged.

Liez, Lac de la, Lac de la, Langres.
Several big carp of 20kg+ are reported from this beautifull lake. Among them this magnificent fish of 24,5 kg (Picture curtesy of Média Carpe). 
The MASTERS Média Carpe 2001 final were held here.
Two sectors are open for nightfishing in 2008
- Z1 on 400 m in the place called le Râlet.
- Z2 on 400 m in the place called Bois Chapusin.

Fays, Étang le, Robert Magny, Montiérs-en-Der
This private venue of 2 lakes - one of 17 acres and the other a small one of ¾ ha.. The big lake is holding a good head of carp to 53 lbs.. 25 swims are availabe - 2 of them doubles. On-site shop and restaurant; showers and toilets available. Run by "Carpediem Angling Limited".


Mouche, Étang de la, Langres
Very nice 98 ha. lake, also known as Reservoir de Saint Ciergues, with many very good carp - and not subject to as much pressure as the two more famous other lakes in the Langres area. A long walk from the parking, though. Nightfishing for carp specialists only (!) 2008 between the places called  "les Roches" and " Le Bois".

Moulin de Bley, Étang de, Dijon, France-Comte
The water temperature is due to natural spring water constantly only 11 degrees in this 5 ha. lake, that never the less is well stocked with 400 carp up to mid-thirties. The whole lake can be hired for 6 or 7 anglers.

Traversenne, Gravière de, Dijon
This 5 ha private gravelpit some 30 km from Dijon is well stocked with carp to 20 kg+. Sturgeons also present. Info, phone 06 08 05 70 18.

Nightfishing 2008 on:
- Zone 1 : 100 m au lieu-dit "La grande Rieppe".
- Zone 2 : 200 m au lieu-dit "Les Etaules".

Villiers-En-Lieux, Étangs de la Ballastierre à,
5 private waters of in all 48 ha., containing carp to 20 kg+, koi carp and wels catfish to 60 kg+!
22 swimms are avilable after prior reservations - each of them can accomodate 2 anglers. Fishfinders are not allowed. Minigolf and playgrounds for children available. Info: phone 03 25 56 39 22
